The Junee Youth Council (JYC) is made up of a group of enthusiastic and vibrant young adults aged 12-18 who live in the Junee Local Government Area. JYC provides young people with the opportunity to learn new skills, express their views on youth issues and advise Council, as well as implement their own projects.
JYC aims to promote a positive image of young people and encourage youth be active participants in the community. JYC projects include; planning and implementing Youth Week and school holiday activities and participating in community activities.

What do Youth Council Members do?
It takes commitment, time, energy and passion to be a Youth Councillor! Meetings are held monthly or when required in between.
The following requirements are highly regarded:
Leadership skills
An interest in youth issues and concerns in Junee
An interest in the future of the Junee community
Ability to commit to meeting at least once a month for the period of a Youth Councillor term of office (to be determined)
Ability to commit and work in a team environment
Happy to be in the media at various time, and confidence or willingness to leant to liaise with the media’
Good communication skills
Ability to get to meetings
Agreement and support from your school work and /or parents.
